Hiking in North Dakota

The steps to hiking in North Dakota:

  1. Try to drive through a snowstorm to get literally anywhere.

  2. Take an extremely shady country road that has not seen a snowplow since before cars were invented.

  3. Get your vehicle so stuck in the snow that it might as well be a fossilized relic of a past age.

  4. Get out of your car to dig yourself out of the snow, then proceed to close the car door and lock your keys and phone inside.

  5. Walk 3 miles to the nearest town of approximately 100 people to borrow a random person's phone.

  6. Proceed to sit and wait while contemplating the life decisions that lead you to that point.

Rinse and repeat.
